a brood of distended bellied spiders has taken up residence in the bathroom, seemingly overnight.

i'm watching the Buccaneer's, from the Edith Wharton book. I absolutely love it. It must be at least 4 hours long, if not longer. Mira Sorvino plays a Brazilian debutante in 19th century American/English society. The corsets and bustles are to die for.

i bought the most wonderful book today. Bartlett's Familiar Quotations. 1400 pages, with the most wonderful indices. and wouldn't you know that when i was at B&N having a snack, my juice bottle had an Alexander Pope quote on the inside of the cap?

"For fools admire, but men of sense approve."

such things as these my mother never understands. or really my father for that matter. at least she wants to spend time with her family. he seems to only ever want to do what H. wants to do. whatever.

i also bought Hunter S. Thompson's "The Rum Diary".
