slow in the fields
writing for comfort
I-5 the endless pitstop
baby babble and
break lights
stand still
distant hills calling
let's go play
a little bit, not so much
inching toward home
this should be a desert
not farmland
twenty, fifteen, ten...
i could jog faster than this
silhouette of burned fields
so many creatures creeping
their isolated orbs adrift.
